1. Jerusalem Syndrome: A phenomenon whereby a person who seems previously balanced and devoid of any signs of psychopathology, becomes psychotic after arriving in Jerusalem
2. Paris Syndrome: A psychological disorder unique to the interaction of Japanese nationals working and vacationing in Paris, France. Wherein the person seems to pile on a lot of pent-up emotions and let them out at once
   
3. Stendhal syndrome: A psychosomatic illness that causes rapid heartbeat, dizziness, confusion and even hallucinations when an individual is exposed to art, usually when the art is particularly 'beautiful' or a large amount of art is in a single place
4. Mean World Syndrome: A phenomenon where the perceptions of viewers of mass media with violent content, such as news or television, are altered by means of cultivation, so that they come to believe that the world is more dangerous than it actually is
5. Stockholm syndrome: A psychological response sometimes seen in an abducted hostage, in which the hostage shows signs of loyalty to the hostage-taker, regardless of the danger (or at least risk) in which the hostage has been placed
6. Lima syndrome: A psychological condition, which is almost the reverse of the Stockholm syndrome. While in the Stockholm syndrome hostages develop sympathy for their abductor, in the Lima syndrome the abductors begin to sympathize with his hostages
7. Phantom limb: The sensation that an amputated or missing limb is still attached to the body and is moving appropriately with other body parts
8. Autistic savant syndrome: Savant syndrome describes a person having a severe developmental or mental handicap with extraordinary mental abilities not found in most people. This means a lower than average general intelligence (IQ) but very high narrow intelligence in one or more fields
9. Congenital insensitivity to pain: a rare condition where a person cannot feel (and has never felt) physical pain. Cognition and sensation is otherwise normal; for instance they can still feel discriminative touch (though not always temperature), and there is no detectable physical abnormality
10. Alien hand syndrome: an unusual disorder, in which one of the sufferer's hands seems to take on a mind of its own. An alien hand sufferer can feel normal sensation in the hand, but believes that the hand, while still being a part of their body, behaves in a manner that is totally distinct from the sufferer's normal behavior
