Rapists beware...
The words of a rape victim - "If only I had teeth down there" - have inspired the design of a new anti-rape device.
Rapex - dubbed the 'rape trap' - is a product worn internally by women. The hollow inside is lined with rows of razor-sharp hooks, which are designed to latch on to a rapist's penis during penetration. They can only be removed by a doctor.
Ladies back home in India will have to wait...
The product will be on the shelves of South African chemists and supermarkets later this month. South African mother-of-two Sonette Ehlers developed the original prototype in 2005 but has struggled to get it patented and approved for sale, not least because of staunch opposition from feminist groups.

10 Interesting Syndromes...
- Jerusalem Syndrome: A phenomenon whereby a person who seems previously balanced and devoid of any signs of psychopathology, becomes psychotic after arriving in Jerusalem
- Paris Syndrome: A psychological disorder unique to the interaction of Japanese nationals working and vacationing in Paris, France. Wherein the person seems to pile on a lot of pent-up emotions and let them out at once
- Stendhal syndrome: A psychosomatic illness that causes rapid heartbeat, dizziness, confusion and even hallucinations when an individual is exposed to art, usually when the art is particularly 'beautiful' or a large amount of art is in a single place
- Mean World Syndrome: A phenomenon where the perceptions of viewers of mass media with violent content, such as news or television, are altered by means of cultivation, so that they come to believe that the world is more dangerous than it actually is
- Stockholm syndrome: A psychological response sometimes seen in an abducted hostage, in which the hostage shows signs of loyalty to the hostage-taker, regardless of the danger (or at least risk) in which the hostage has been placed
- Lima syndrome: A psychological condition, which is almost the reverse of the Stockholm syndrome. While in the Stockholm syndrome hostages develop sympathy for their abductor, in the Lima syndrome the abductors begin to sympathize with his hostages
- Phantom limb: The sensation that an amputated or missing limb is still attached to the body and is moving appropriately with other body parts
- Autistic savant syndrome: Savant syndrome describes a person having a severe developmental or mental handicap with extraordinary mental abilities not found in most people. This means a lower than average general intelligence (IQ) but very high narrow intelligence in one or more fields
- Congenital insensitivity to pain: a rare condition where a person cannot feel (and has never felt) physical pain. Cognition and sensation is otherwise normal; for instance they can still feel discriminative touch (though not always temperature), and there is no detectable physical abnormality
- Alien hand syndrome: an unusual disorder, in which one of the sufferer's hands seems to take on a mind of its own. An alien hand sufferer can feel normal sensation in the hand, but believes that the hand, while still being a part of their body, behaves in a manner that is totally distinct from the sufferer's normal behavior

Proveyourlogic...
This site has an interesting IQ test...
Unlike the conventional IQ tests which are shallow in that they allow you to make mistakes and still get away with them, this one does not...
Try it out, if you get stuck at any level, come back for the answers...
Level 1: Nothing
Nothing is better than god, worse than the devil, so on so forth...
Level 2: O T T F F S S E N T
ONE TWO THREE . . . . . . TEN
Level 3: first
Only after the second world war will the first one be known as the first one, if not for the second there would only be 'the world war'...
Level 4: 5
the number of letters in the uttered word...
Level 5: anchor
fairly obvious...
Level 6: thursday
by logical elimination...
Level 7: water
most obvious thing is the easiest to miss...
Level 8: 6
A bit of math, upon comparison you will find that 1, 2 and 5 equal 0 and 8 equals 2 so the answer is 2...
Level 9: 6
Do not miss the two 'of's in the second line...
Level 10: Gregory
March, April -> weird names...
Level 11: 999
the page would say -> 999 pages are lying, which is a fact...
Level 12: 3
Imagine the way books are stacked in a shelf and you will know the logic...
Level 13: 2
Hungry beasts, surviving for five years seems unlikely...
Level 14: mother
Fairly obvious...
Level 15: maid
Mail on sunday, hmm...
Level 16: M
once in a Minute
twice in a MoMent
and never in a million years...
Level 17: E
M+3=P
the beginning of Eternity
the end of timE and spacE
the beginning of every End
and the end of every placE...
Level 18: 13
simple math...
Level 19: 28
again fairly simple math...
Level 20: everest
Non discovery does not make Everest any shorter...
Level 21: 25
trial and error math...
Level 22: august
by logical elimination...
Level 23: 8000
20*20*20
Level 24: 35
a geometric formula...
Last level: 59
basic logic...

Rich List - 2008...
The latest Forbes RichList has thrown a lot of surprises...
For the first time in over 13 years Bill Gates has been relegated to the third spot...
The first spot is safe with the Sage of Omaha and the second spot is held by Carlos Helu...
Speaking of closer home, 4 Indians in the top 10 is an amazing achievement (the fact that Dollar depreciation has helped our cause shall be overlooked till the celebrations are over)...
One other observation is the presence of a lot of Russians in the top 20 and most of them in their early forties and whats more their fortune is self amassed (I did some reading up and one popular conspiracy theory doing the rounds talks about how the young mougals (Business Oligarchs) are a corrupt lot and the money that they claim to manage is actually Putin's...)...
If you count Gates out, there is no other tech head in the top 20...
What makes Buffett's climb even more commendable is the fact that the market is actually going thru a possible recession...
