An ad-age on one of the hoardings I came across claims so :-
'Cubicles are alloted,
Corner offices are earned...'
Some might agree, most might disagree however the dimension that I want to concentrate on is neither the idea that lower corporate rungs are disparaged (maybe inadvertantly) nor the whole concept of painting the top brass as laborious creatures...
What actually crossed my mind the first time I read the ad-age is that the last word stands out like a proverbial sore thumb...
I for one strongly feel that the last word should be replaced by the word 'acquired'...
Yeah, that is true...
Corner offices are not earned for the plain reason that there is so much at stake & so many able contenders will be in the fray that no matter how good or deserving one is unless one has the ability to 'acquire' it be it by any means, one wont get it...
