Leadership Decoded!!!

Y is it that most ppl donno know wat to do <-> which direction to take <-> how far to go? Y r risk n responsibility shouldering such monumnetal tasks for a great many?
Y do "almost all" look up to the "select few"...
"almost all" -=> Followers
"select few" -=> Leaders
Technically speaking followers should out number leaders but t is it that there is such a huge gulf in the actual numbers & of more importance is the question pertaining to the difference between the two species...
Lets try to ladder up from the basics :-
Leader
-> a person who leads
-> for her/him to lead there should be someone who wants to get led
-> people would not like to get led by those who r like them in all respects, so what is different in this league
-> now it is obvious that they r unlike most (from the previous premise)
-> if someone wants to get led by someone then it means the former trusts the latter
-> so a leader is one who can instil trust in others
How can s/he do it?
< Inter personal skills>
-> ability to interact with people of varied kinds
-> fine one might trust someone but the sustanance of the same is of equal importance
-> this can happen only if the person u trust as per u has the ability to suggest right n not random things
How can s/he do it?
< Leaders generally r visionaries>
-> they can analyze which way the wind will blow thanks to the information gathered thru the first trait
-> trust is one thing but respect is a totally different issue
How do leaders command respect?
< Leaders r men/women of integrity>
-> they live by their honour n word
-> they might have a lot of inside information, they might be people of highest virtue (honour) but how do others even know of the same
How do leaders emerge -> driving force?
< Their ability to play with example & unprecedented communication skills>
-> all great leaders had mastered atleast one medium of communication be it speech, writing, painting, singing...
-> y dont others imitate or emulate them & become leaders themselves...
<< Thanks 2 a secret known only to the great leaders>>
-=> Great leaders never stand on ceremony...
A trait easy to comprehend but virtually impossible to cultivate...

Signing off...

ok, i donno y u suddenly chose to write about leadership...or may be i can make a good guess ;)!

you would have come across some "well read" leader in the recent past and ended up doing a post mortem of leadership as a trait..:)

anyways my take on leadership ..agree with most of your points, esp that u need to command respect to be one and not demand one.and more importantly trust.

And i believe these two are the most important in any realtionship, and not just leadership traits.

from my point of view the equation would be something like this

respect->trust->liking-> following (in case of leadership)

or respect->trust->liking in case of any other relationship

Au revior , and continue the good work on analysing behavioural traits
